Plasma physics

This nanomodule introduces the fundamental aspects of plasma physics, with a focus on the connection between basic physical processes and their diverse applications. The introductory video is designed for a general audience, illustrating the complexity of plasma generation and highlighting the importance of understanding the underlying physics. The course then continues with four expert-level videos that cover key concepts: plasma generation through gas breakdown, the physics of glow discharge as a “classical” laboratory-scale example, dielectric barrier discharge as a cornerstone of industrial processes, and magnetron plasma to demonstrate the role of magnetic fields in controlling plasma properties. Taken together, the videos provide essential background in plasma physics and emphasize its significance for the development of future technologies.
